When experiencing Lin Shuang-wen Rebellion, residents in Xinpu formed the Yi Min Jyun, a troop, to prevent Southern Min from helping Lin Shuang wen. And the dead was buried here when it was on its way of being delivered back to Xinpu. However, the carts were stuck and there weren't enough oxen. It became a tomb and was named "Ji Yi Ting", and was rebuilt into a pavilion in Daoguang second year(1876). In contrast, the pilgrims who go to the Yi Yong Miao to respect the dead are much more than the pilgrims who go to this temple.
